A popular video has emerged showing Bobrisky, the renowned media personality, generously dispensing Naira notes at a gathering. This event transpired merely hours before he was taken into custody on allegations of disrespecting the Naira.
Bobrisky's Arrest
Bobrisky, a well-known Nigerian crossdresser and social media personality, was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) due to allegations of abusing the Naira, the Nigerian currency. The charges against him included the spraying of Naira notes and currency mutilation, which are considered improper handling of the currency.
The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed that Bobrisky was arrested in Lagos and emphasized the seriousness of the commission in restoring the dignity of the Naira. The EFCC's investigation into these allegations was ongoing at the time of his arrest, and it was stated that he would be charged to court soon.
