Ralf Rangnick, has reportedly turned down the opportunity to replace Thomas Tuchel as the manager of Bayern Munich.
Contractual Commitments with Austria
Bayern Munich had been in discussions with Rangnick about a potential deal that would involve him departing from his current role with the Austrian national team ahead of schedule. However, Rangnick has made it clear that he intends to honor his contract with Austria, which is set to run until 2026. According to BILD, he is committed to leading Austria through Euro 2024 this summer.
Tuchel's Departure and Bayern's Search for a New Manager
The news comes after Bayern Munich and Thomas Tuchel mutually announced in February that Tuchel would be leaving the club at the end of the season. This departure followed a season where Bayern Munich lost the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen, who were crowned champions.
Tuchel's Remaining Challenges
Despite losing the Bundesliga title, Thomas Tuchel's side still has an opportunity to claim the UEFA Champions League trophy. They are currently engaged in a semi-final tie with Real Madrid, with the first leg ending in a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena. As the race for the Champions League intensifies, Tuchel faces the challenge of guiding his team to European glory while managing the internal dynamics within the Bayern Munich squad.
