
Appeal for the Release of Gnewzy: Mother's Plea
The mother of Nigerian singer, Goodnews Emuemu aka Gnewzy, has made a heartfelt appeal to his abductors, urging them to release her son.
Abduction Incident:
Gnewzy was abducted in Ughelli, Delta state on Monday, April 29, shortly after a performance. According to his record label, the singer's manager, Obas9ice, managed to escape unharmed. The assailants, reportedly dressed in police uniforms, forcibly took Gnewzy.
Ransom Demand:
Following the abduction, the kidnappers contacted Gnewzy's record label and demanded a ransom of $200,000 for his release. They issued a chilling threat, warning that they would harm Gnewzy if the authorities were involved or if the ransom amount was reduced. Furthermore, they indicated their intention to provide instructions via email regarding the ransom drop-off location within five days.
Emotional Appeal:
In a deeply emotional video, Gnewzy's distraught mother, unable to contain her anguish, pleaded for her son's safe return. Tears streaming down her face, she emphasized that Gnewzy is her only child, imploring his captors to show mercy and release him.
"He is my only child. Please release him," she cried, her hands clutching her head in desperation.
The family's plea underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgent need for Gnewzy's safe return.
