Tottenham Hotspur FC and Tanguy Ndombele Part Ways
Tottenham Hotspur FC has announced that it has reached a mutual agreement with midfielder Tanguy Ndombele to terminate his contract, effective immediately. The French international had one year remaining on his deal.
Ndombele joined Tottenham in 2019 from Olympique Lyonnais in a transfer worth up to £63 million, a club record at the time. During his tenure, he made 91 appearances across all competitions, scoring 10 goals. Despite showing promise, Ndombele struggled to establish himself as a consistent starter, leading to loan spells at Olympique Lyonnais and SSC Napoli.
Last season, Ndombele was part of Napoli's Serie A title-winning squad, making 11 appearances and scoring one goal. He also had a stint at Galatasaray SK in the Turkish Süper Lig, where he made 22 appearances and scored three goals.
Tottenham Hotspur FC has chosen not to renew Ndombele's contract, bringing an end to a chapter that failed to meet expectations. The club wishes Ndombele the best of luck in his future endeavors and appreciates his contributions during his time at the club.
