Belgian international Romelu Lukaku has expressed his openness to a potential move to Saudi Arabia, praising the country's rapid growth in football. In an interview with HLN, Lukaku stated, "Saudi Arabia wouldn't stop me. The level will only rise there. To a much higher level than many people think."
The striker, currently on loan at AS Roma from Chelsea FC, added, "More and more footballers will tend to play there. All the major European top clubs know that: Saudi Arabia is coming."
Lukaku's comments suggest a shift in his stance, having previously rejected a move to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal last summer. His impressive form at Roma, scoring 21 goals in 32 Serie A appearances, has made him a sought-after player in Europe.
Lukaku's loan deal at Roma expires at the end of the season, and his future plans remain uncertain. However, his acknowledgement of Saudi Arabia's rising football level may spark interest from clubs in the region.
