Veteran winger Angel Di Maria has confirmed his retirement from international football with Argentina following the conclusion of the 2024 Copa América.
The 36-year-old, currently featuring for Argentina in the tournament, expressed mixed emotions about his decision.
"I'm not ready for my last game in the national team, but it's time," Di Maria told DSportsRadio. "Whatever happens in the final, I think I can leave through the front door. I gave everything."
Di Maria, who has enjoyed spells with prestigious clubs like Real Madrid and PSG, boasts an impressive international career. He made his debut for Argentina in 2008 and has since racked up 144 appearances, scoring 31 goals for his nation.
"I always gave my life for this jersey," he declared, highlighting his dedication to the Argentina national team.
