Spinazzola Bolsters Napoli Defense on Free Transfer
Italian fullback Leonardo Spinazzola has signed for Napoli after leaving AS Roma on a free transfer. The 31-year-old joins the Partenopei on a deal reported to be until June 2026.
Spinazzola is a proven talent in Serie A, having made 151 appearances for Roma during his five years with the club. A key member of Italy's triumphant Euro 2020 squad, Spinazzola's recent seasons have been hampered by injuries. However, his experience and attacking prowess are seen as valuable assets for Napoli's new manager, Antonio Conte.
This signing marks Conte's first major acquisition since taking charge of Napoli in June. The club endured a disappointing 10th place finish in Serie A last season, and Spinazzola's arrival is a signal of their intent to challenge for a higher position in the coming campaign.
