Arsenal Football Club have reached an agreement with S.S. Lazio for the transfer of defender Nuno Tavares.
Tavares, a 23-year-old Portuguese full-back, joined Arsenal in July 2021 from S.L. Benfica for a fee of around €8 million. He made 28 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions, scoring one goal and assisting two.
In the 2022/23 season, Tavares was loaned to Olympique de Marseille, where he featured in 31 Ligue 1 matches, contributing six goals. He spent the first half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Nottingham Forest before returning to Arsenal.
The move to Lazio sees Tavares depart Arsenal on a loan deal with an obligation to buy for a fee in the region of €7 million-€8 million. The deal also includes a sell-on clause for Arsenal.
