Michael Olise Joins FC Bayern on Five-Year Deal
FC Bayern have secured the signing of Michael Olise on a five-year contract until June 2029, with Crystal Palace receiving a transfer fee of £45 million plus £5 million in add-ons and a sell-on clause.
The highly-rated winger had been linked to several top clubs, but ultimately chose Bayern as his preferred destination. When asked about his decision, Olise stated, "Talks with Bayern were very positive. I am very happy to be playing for such a big club." He added, "It's a big challenge, exactly what I was looking for. I want to prove myself at this level and win titles."
Olise's move to Bayern brings an end to his three-year stint at Crystal Palace, where he made a significant impact despite his young age. The Frenchman joined Palace in 2021 and went on to score 16 goals and provide 25 assists in all competitions. His impressive form last season, which saw him score 10 goals and register six assists in just 19 appearances, made him one of the most sought-after wingers in the Premier League.
Prior to his move to Bayern, Olise had signed a new four-year contract with Crystal Palace in August 2023, amidst interest from Chelsea, who had activated his £35 million release clause. However, Olise chose to stay at Palace, and his decision was seen as a major coup for the club.
