Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has described his new manager at Fenerbahce, Jose Mourinho, as “scary.” Despite this, Osayi-Samuel acknowledges that working with Mourinho has significantly boosted his self-confidence.
Since joining Fenerbahce in 2021, Osayi-Samuel has made 140 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing 13 assists. Before this season, he had worked under seven different coaches at the club: Emre Belözoğlu, Erol Bulut, Vítor Pereira, İsmail Kartal, Zeki Murat Göle, João de Deus, and Jorge Jesus.
With Mourinho's arrival this summer, Fenerbahce is aiming to challenge Galatasaray's dominance. Reflecting on his experience, Osayi-Samuel remarked, “Mourinho is scary but also very nice. It is a great honor to work with him.” He added, “I want to learn the history of the players. He instills self-confidence in the player. I think I will learn a lot while working with him this year.”
