Ghanaian chef, Millennium Chef Smith, has apologized for falsifying a Guinness World Record for marathon cooking, after being exposed for presenting a counterfeit certificate at a press conference on July 2.
The certificate claimed he had set a new world record for cooking non-stop for 820 hours and 25 minutes, from February 1 to March 6, 2024.
However, Alina Polianskaya, PR Executive for Guinness World Records, refuted the claim, stating, "No, this is not true at all. He does not hold the GWR title, and that is not our certificate." (BBC)
Smith's apology acknowledges the misrepresentation and highlights the importance of integrity and honesty in achieving record-setting feats.
