Mohamed Salah Leads Tributes to Former Teammate Ahmed Refaat After Sudden Passing
The Egyptian football community is in mourning following the tragic passing of Ahmed Refaat, a former international player who died from a heart attack at the age of 31.
Refaat, who played alongside Mohamed Salah, suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away on Saturday morning, leaving behind a legacy of achievements and memories.
Refaat's football career was marked by notable successes, including seven appearances for the Egyptian national team between 2013 and 2022, during which he scored two goals. He also played for several Egyptian clubs, including ENPPI SC, Al Ittihad Alexandria, Zamalek, and Al Masry, as well as Al Wahda in the UAE. His achievements include winning the African U-20 Championship in 2013 and various club trophies.
Mohamed Salah, Liverpool star and Egypt captain, led the tributes to his former teammate, expressing condolences and support for Refaat's family.
