Didier Deschamps, appointed manager of the French national team in July 2012, has solidified his commitment by extending his contract through the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This announcement comes following France's participation in the UEFA Euro 2024, where they reached the semi-final stage.
French Football Federation (FFF) president Philippe Diallo confirmed the extension in an interview with L'Équipe. "Deschamps has a valid contract, and he has demonstrably achieved the sporting objectives set for him," stated Diallo. "His leadership in guiding France to the Euro 2024 semi-finals underscores his dedication and the team's continued potential. We are confident Didier will continue his successful mission."
This announcement signifies the FFF's continued faith in Deschamps' leadership and tactical acumen. His experience and proven track record with the national team, including a World Cup victory in 2018, position him well to guide France in their quest for further international glory at the 2026 World Cup.
