FC Bayern Munich Bolster Midfield with Signing of João Palhinha
FC Bayern Munich have secured the signing of Portuguese midfielder João Palhinha from Fulham Football Club. Palhinha has signed a four-year contract, keeping him at the Allianz Arena until June 30, 2028.
It's been learnt that the transfer fee is reported to be in the region of €50 million, with the potential for additional add-ons. This is a significant acquisition for Bayern Munich, who add a talented and experienced player to their midfield core.
Palhinha, 29, impressed during his stint in the English Premier League with Fulham. He made a significant impact, scoring eight goals in 79 competitive appearances for the club.
Palhinha played a pivotal role in Portugal's journey at the recently concluded Euro 2024, reaching the quarter-finals.
"This is truly one of the happiest days of my life," Palhinha said upon finalizing the transfer. "Playing for one of Europe's top clubs is a dream come true for me, and I couldn't be prouder."
The midfielder expressed his excitement about the atmosphere and the fans at the Allianz Arena, adding, "I'm looking forward to experiencing the Allianz Arena atmosphere and connecting with the fans."
