Sevilla Nears Free Transfer Deal for Kelechi Iheanacho

Spanish club Sevilla is close to finalizing a free transfer for Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho.

It's been learnt that the 27-year-old forward, who recently departed Leicester City following the expiration of his contract, is poised to sign a long-term deal with the La Liga side.

Sources indicate that Sevilla's coach, Garcia Pimienta, has long admired Iheanacho's talents and has endorsed the transfer. This acquisition is intended to fill the void left by Youssef En-Nesyri, who departed the club earlier this summer.

Recall that En-Nesyri has moved to Turkish side Fenerbahçe becoming Jose Mourinho First Signing as coach of the club this summer. 

Iheanacho is expected to arrive in Sevilla by Tuesday or Wednesday to undergo a routine medical examination, a prerequisite for completing the transfer. Following this, he will finalize his contract, committing to Sevilla's Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium for the foreseeable future.
