Ukrainian Striker Dovbyk Set for AS Roma After He Snubbed Atlético Madrid Offer

Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk is set to join Italian club AS Roma following an agreement on contract terms with the club's representatives.

Reports indicate that Dovbyk consented to the transfer on Wednesday night, after discussions with the club's board and manager, Daniele De Rossi.

Dovbyk has demonstrated impressive form with Girona during the 2023-24 season, netting 12 goals in 20 appearances. His performances have attracted interest from several top European clubs, but AS Roma has emerged as the frontrunner for his signature.

Dovbyk's agent, Alex Lundovsky, confirmed the move, expressing his client's enthusiasm about joining AS Roma. Lundovsky noted that Atlético Madrid had also shown interest, but their offer was considered inadequate.

"Atlético Madrid is a great club, but we didn't see a serious project for Artem there," Lundovsky told Ukrfootball. "Their offer is significantly lower in financial terms compared to the other offers."

AS Roma and Girona are currently negotiating the final transfer fee. Although the exact terms of the deal are yet to be revealed, it is evident that AS Roma is determined to secure Dovbyk's services.

The transfer is expected to be finalized in the coming days, pending successful negotiations. Dovbyk's addition would enhance AS Roma's attacking options and provide De Rossi with another skilled player to integrate into the squad.
