Álvaro Morata, the 31-year-old Spanish footballer, has announced his separation from his wife Alice Campello after seven years of marriage.
The former Chelsea striker, who recently joined Milan, confirmed the news on Instagram, stating that he and Campello had made the decision to part ways after a period of reflection.
Morata praised their "wonderful and respectful" relationship, highlighting the four children they share as the best thing they have achieved together. He also acknowledged that the decision to separate was painful and asked for respect and empathy from the public.
Campello, an Italian influencer, has also addressed the separation on social media. She removed Morata's name from her bios and changed her name back to Alice Campello. In a heartfelt post, she echoed Morata's sentiments, emphasizing that there were no third parties or disrespect involved in their decision. She acknowledged the accumulation of misunderstandings and poor communication as the reason for their separation.
The couple married in June 2017, shortly before Morata's move to Chelsea from Real Madrid. They share three sons, including twins, and one daughter. Despite their separation, both Morata and Campello have expressed gratitude for their time together and have vowed to maintain a respectful relationship for the sake of their children.
