Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta Welcomes Jurrien Timber Back to First-Team Training
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has welcomed Jurrien Timber's return to first-team training as of Wednesday. This development is a significant boost for the Gunners, who are preparing for their opening Premier League fixture against Wolves.
Timber, the Dutch defender who joined Arsenal last summer, had a challenging 2023-24 season. He sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury on the opening day of the campaign, which kept him sidelined for nearly the entire season. Despite this setback, the 23-year-old made a return to action on the final day of the season against Everton and participated in Arteta's squad during the US pre-season tour.
However, Timber's progress was hampered by a foot injury that caused him to miss the last two friendly matches of the summer against Bayer Leverkusen and Lyon. Now, with his return to first-team training, Timber is set to make a timely comeback ahead of Arsenal's season opener at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
