Arsenal has submitted a bid of €20 million to Espanyol for Joan García, a promising Spanish goalkeeper, as they seek to replace Aaron Ramsdale. 
García, who has agreed to personal terms with Arsenal, has become the club’s primary target following Ramsdale's expected move to Southampton.
However, Espanyol is holding out for the full €30 million release clause before agreeing to the transfer.
Ramsdale's departure from Arsenal is set to be finalized with Southampton, who will pay an initial £18 million, with potential add-ons bringing the total to £25 million.
Ramsdale, who joined Arsenal from Sheffield United in 2021, fell out of favor last season after losing his starting spot to David Raya. His move to Southampton marks a return to the south coast, where he previously played for Bournemouth.
Arsenal’s pursuit of García aligns with their need for a reliable backup to David Raya, especially after Karl Hein’s loan move to Rayo Vallecano and Arthur Okonkwo's departure to Wrexham.
García, who was instrumental in Espanyol’s recent promotion to La Liga, is highly regarded, but Arsenal may need to increase their offer to meet Espanyol's demands.
