On Thursday, August 1, a significant number of protesters disrupted the peace in Katsina State as they converged on the Daura residence of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The demonstration, driven by widespread frustration with economic conditions in Nigeria, saw protesters encircling Buhari’s home and creating a scene of upheaval.
Footage from the scene, which has quickly spread across social media platforms, depicts a large crowd gathered in the vicinity of Buhari’s residence. The air is thick with dark smoke rising from tires set ablaze by the demonstrators, intensifying the turmoil in the area.
In the video, a voice speaking in Hausa confirms that the protest is specifically targeted at the former President’s residence.
This unrest is part of a broader movement, known as #EndBadGovernance, which has been launched to address and protest against the severe economic difficulties currently plaguing Nigeria.
The protest marks the first day of this campaign, which seeks to hold leaders accountable and demand substantial changes in governance.
