Several protesters have reportedly been shot dead, while others have been injured during ongoing demonstrations in Suleja, Niger State.

Witnesses claim that three individuals were killed, allegedly by security personnel. "This isn’t fake news! The Police shot 3 protesters in Suleja Niger state during the peaceful protest," wrote X user, @Humeeerat. This statement underscores the assertion that the incidents were not fabrications but real occurrences, emphasizing the involvement of police in the shooting.

According to reports, some policemen stationed at a barricade struggled to control the larger group of youths. A reinforcement team was subsequently dispatched to the chaotic scene.

DailyTrust reports that Yahaya Nda Isah, a resident of Hassan Dalatu Road in Suleja, was among those killed. He was struck by a stray bullet while riding his bike in front of the Suleja Police ‘A’ division, where protesters had gathered. This detail highlights the tragic coincidence of Isah's death, as he was not involved in the protest but was inadvertently caught in the violence.

A relative of the deceased told Daily Trust, "He was my uncle. He was not even protesting. He was passing in front of the Police ‘A’ division where some people were protesting when a stray bullet hit him on his chest, and he died. As I speak with you, I am at his house with other mourners. It’s unfortunate." This quote illustrates the deep personal loss and the confusion surrounding Isah's death, as he was merely a bystander.

Another victim identified as Mallam Abu also reportedly died at the scene, according to the publication. This addition to the report further confirms the severity of the situation.

A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, informed Daily Trust that three additional people were shot at the same location, while two others were shot at the Suleja Junction on the Abuja-Kaduna road. However, the status of the additional victims remains unconfirmed. This testimony provides further context to the scale of the violence, indicating multiple shooting incidents in different locations.
