Reports have surfaced alleging that certain officials arranged for Bobrisky to serve his six-month prison sentence in a private apartment, rather than in a standard prison facility. This controversy has triggered swift reactions from both social and traditional media, sparking public outrage.

The accusations stem from Bobrisky's recent conviction by a Federal High Court in Lagos, where he was sentenced for naira abuse. The suggestion that prison officials may have granted him preferential treatment has raised questions about corruption and fairness within the NCoS. In response, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has vowed to hold those responsible fully accountable.

During a press conference in Abuja, marking his first year in office, Dr. Tunji-Ojo made his position crystal clear. “We will not spare anybody no matter how highly placed,” he declared, sending a strong message that no one involved in the scandal would escape justice. He urged the public to remain patient as investigations are still ongoing but emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring that those implicated face the full weight of the law.

The minister also pointed to the expertise and integrity of the individuals appointed to the investigation panel, underscoring the seriousness of the probe. Dr. Tunji-Ojo expressed confidence that the investigation would restore trust and discipline within the Correctional Service, stating that the government is fully committed to rooting out corruption and upholding accountability within its ranks.
