Steve Parish, the Chairman and co-owner of Crystal Palace, expressed his surprise at the lack of substantial interest in Eberechi Eze during the summer transfer window. 
Parish shared his concerns about potentially losing both Michael Olise and Eze in the same period, which would have been a significant blow to the club.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Parish stated, "I was really worried from a club point of view of losing Michael and Ebs in the same window. We didn’t have in Ebs the interest that I thought we would have. I was astounded. Genuinely astounded. I mean, the guy’s just an outstanding footballer, an outstanding person. He’s a gift to any football club."
Eberechi Eze has been a key player for Crystal Palace, featuring in 140 matches and scoring 29 goals since joining the club. Despite his impressive performances, the anticipated transfer interest did not materialize.
During this transfer window, Crystal Palace sold Michael Olise to Bayern Munich for a significant fee. Additionally, Joachim Andersen moved to Fulham, and Jordan Ayew completed a transfer to Leicester City.
