Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that Federico Chiesa is included in the squad for the first time ahead of their UEFA Champions League match against AC Milan.
Slot mentioned, "He is for the first time in our team selection, and since I said it is the first time he is in team selection it would be a big surprise for him and everyone if he would start tomorrow. I don’t think you should expect that he starts, but he can make a few minutes for the first time tomorrow if we need him."
Chiesa recently joined Liverpool from Juventus in a transfer deal worth £12.5 million. Despite not being fit enough to feature in Liverpool's recent 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, he has traveled with the team to Milan for their Champions League opener on September 18.
Liverpool's next match in the UEFA Champions League is against AC Milan at the San Siro Stadium. This will be a significant fixture as both teams have a rich history in the competition.
