Erik ten Hag has provided an update on the injury status of Manchester United's left-back, Luke Shaw.

Shaw, who has been sidelined with a calf injury sustained during pre-season training, is still not ready to return to the first team.

Ten Hag emphasized that while Shaw is making progress, there is no definitive timeline for his return due to the unpredictable nature of his recovery.

Ten Hag stated, "He’s progressing but not yet ready to be selected. He is progressing well, of course we have a plan in our head when he can be ready but you’re always dependent on how the progress will go and you can’t think, you can’t make a suggestion because there are so many factors, a plan can accelerate or slow down."

In their recent match, Manchester United secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Southampton. This win marked one of their most competent performances of the season so far. The team will next face Barnsley in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

Luke Shaw's last appearance for Manchester United was on February 18, 2024, before he was sidelined with his current injury.
