The light-hearted remark was made during a 2011 appearance on The Graham Norton Show. However, years later, Diddy finds himself facing serious allegations involving his "Freak Off" parties, where attendees claim they were subjected to horrific abuse.
Recently, Diddy was arrested by federal agents in connection to multiple civil lawsuits accusing him of sex trafficking, sexual abuse, and rape. According to the lawsuits, some victims of the "Freak Off" parties were allegedly drugged and coerced into non-consensual acts. In extreme cases, partygoers reported injuries so severe that they required weeks to recover.
In the midst of these legal battles, Diddy's 2011 interview on The Graham Norton Show has resurfaced. During the interview, the music mogul hinted that, in their younger days, he had considered inviting the royal brothers to one of his exclusive parties.
When asked by Graham Norton, "I read that you want to get Prince William and Prince Harry to the Diddy party," Diddy jokingly replied, "Not anymore, they're off the list. But before, when they were young bucks, they were getting up to trouble themselves. So I was like, 'Hey, why don't you come out and hang with me.'"
While Diddy's comment may have been in jest, there is no evidence to suggest that Prince William or Prince Harry ever attended one of his parties. However, Prince Harry’s name did surface in one of the lawsuits against Diddy. It is important to note that the Duke of Sussex is not accused of any wrongdoing in relation to the case.
The lawsuit, first filed in February, included a claim from a producer known as Mr. Jones, who alleged that people were drawn to Diddy because of his access to high-profile figures like Prince Harry. The connection between Diddy and the British royals was first established in 2007 when Prince William and Prince Harry hosted a party to thank those involved in the “Concert for Diana” benefit held at Wembley Stadium.
At the concert, Diddy performed his emotional 1997 hit "I’ll Be Missing You," a tribute to the late rapper Notorious B.I.G. After the event, Diddy was seen mingling with the royal brothers at a backstage party. Photos captured Prince William shaking hands with Diddy, while Prince Harry was seen warmly embracing both Diddy and fellow rapper Kanye West. These images marked a rare intersection between British royalty and American hip-hop culture, but in light of the recent allegations, the past connection has taken on a different tone.
