The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards took place on Wednesday, September 11, at New York’s UBS Arena, with Megan Thee Stallion hosting the event.

Rapper Eminem kicked off the show with a performance alongside Jelly Roll. Other artists who took to the stage included Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, Lenny Kravitz, Quavo, and Sabrina Carpenter, among others.

Taylor Swift led the nominations with 12 nods, followed closely by Post Malone, her "Fortnight" collaborator, with 11. Swift went on to secure seven wins, while Post Malone won five, including their most significant victory of the night when "Fortnight" was named Video of the Year.

Additionally, Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For (From Barbie)" won the "Video for Good" category, while Katy Perry's "Roar" (2013) earned the "VMAs Most Iconic Performance" award.

In technical categories, Ariana Grande won Best Cinematography for "we can’t be friends (wait for your love)", Eminem secured Best Visual Effects for "Houdini", and Megan Thee Stallion triumphed in Best Art Direction for "BOA".
