Spain emerged victorious with a 4-1 triumph over Switzerland in their UEFA Nations League clash, despite being reduced to ten men for most of the game. 
The match, held in Geneva, saw Spain assert early dominance with two quick goals. Joselu opened the scoring with a header, and soon after, Fabian Ruiz doubled the lead by capitalizing on a rebound after Nico Williams' shot was parried. Spain, who had drawn 0-0 in their opening match against Serbia, seemed in control until defender Robin Le Normand was sent off for a foul on Breel Embolo.
Switzerland tried to capitalize on their numerical advantage, with Zeki Amdouni scoring from a corner to bring the hosts back into the game. However, despite controlling possession in the rain, Switzerland failed to equalize. Spain then stunned the home side with two more goals in quick succession. Fabian Ruiz netted his second of the night after a cross from Ferran Torres, who also added the fourth goal moments later, securing Spain’s comfortable win despite their disadvantage.
This victory marked Spain's first in the 2024/25 Nations League campaign, further cementing their reputation after their Euro 2024 win.
