Hwange Lusumbami FC is mourning the loss of their goalkeeper, Johnson Shumba, who tragically passed away due to severe injuries sustained during a football match.
It was learnt that this sad incident occurred during a Division Two League game between Lusumbami FC and Hwange FC Reserves in Matabeleland North Province.
It was reported that Shumba collided with an opposing player during the match, resulting in critical injuries that ultimately claimed his life.
Despite receiving medical treatment at Mpilo Hospital, Shumba succumbed to his injuries.
The club confirmed the heartbreaking news through a statement on their social media platforms, expressing their grief and offering condolences to Shumba's family.
