However, Newcastle quickly responded with an equalizer from Alexander Isak, with Lewis Hall providing the assist in the 32nd minute.
Just after the second half began, Cole Palmer restored Chelsea's lead in the 47th minute, with help from Roméo Lavia, which ultimately proved decisive in securing the three points for the home side.
This win places Chelsea in 7th position in the league table, while Newcastle remains in 9th place. Both teams are now preparing for a midweek Carabao Cup fixture on October 30, where Chelsea will travel to St. James’ Park to face Newcastle once again.
Following the cup clash, Chelsea will visit Old Trafford to take on Manchester United in their next Premier League fixture on November 3, while Newcastle will return to Premier League action against Aston Villa on November 2.
