CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 Qualifier against Libya, scheduled for tonight, has been officially postponed. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that the fixture will no longer proceed as planned and will be referred to the relevant CAF bodies for further resolution.
This decision follows Nigeria’s withdrawal, citing safety issues after a prolonged delay at Al Abraq Airport. CAF had earlier announced it was in contact with both the Libyan and Nigerian authorities after learning that the Super Eagles and their technical team were stranded in disturbing conditions at the airport for several hours.
In the first leg of the qualifier, Nigeria secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Libya, with Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scoring the decisive goal in the 86th minute.
