Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has made his way back to Bayer Leverkusen’s training sessions after a recent car accident.
23-year-old forward was involved in a collision on Sunday morning, mere hours after scoring the decisive goal in Leverkusen's 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt. As a passenger in the car, Boniface sustained minor injuries to his hand and received treatment at a local hospital.
Boniface's quick recovery has allowed him to rejoin the team as they gear up for their upcoming match against Werder Bremen this weekend. Leverkusen's coach, Xabi Alonso, mentioned that Boniface's participation will depend on his training performance.
Boniface has been in stellar form this season, having scored seven goals in ten appearances across all competitions. His contributions have been crucial to Leverkusen's success, including the game-winning goal against Eintracht Frankfurt. However, due to the accident, he missed the team's 1-1 draw against Brest in the UEFA Champions League midweek.
As Bayer Leverkusen strives to maintain their standing in the Bundesliga, Boniface's return is a significant boost. The team currently sits fourth in the league, three points behind the leaders, and will look to secure a victory against Werder Bremen to narrow the gap
