Activist Aisha Yesufu has strongly criticized the National Assembly for investigating bribery allegations against Bobrisky, a popular cross-dresser. The allegations stem from an audio conversation claiming Bobrisky paid N15 million to drop money laundering charges and received special treatment during his six-month jail term.
Yesufu expressed her dismay, questioning why lawmakers are prioritizing this "minor" case amidst Nigeria's pressing issues. "This whole Bobrisky saga is nonsense... a country where citizens are starving, suffering, and facing unprecedented hardship, yet the National Assembly focuses on Bobrisky," she said. "I cannot fathom. There are agencies like EFCC, Police, and ICPC to handle this. The National Assembly has turned itself into a useless institution, wasting time on trivial matters."
Yesufu also addressed Bobrisky, asking why he attempted to flee the country when summoned. "Where is he running to? Whether he or she, they have summoned you, walk up to them, talk. Face the consequences of your actions. Why are you running away?"
