Former Germany international Toni Kroos has shared the personal struggles he faced while announcing his retirement from professional football.
In an interview with MARCA, Kroos revealed that breaking the news to his son and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti was the most challenging part of his decision.
"The most difficult thing was telling Ancelotti and my son that I was retiring," Kroos admitted. "It's been really complicated." Kroos's emotional farewell was a testament to his deep connection with the sport and his beloved club, Real Madrid.
Kroos, who hung up his boots following the Euro 2024 in Germany, expressed his enduring love for Real Madrid, saying, "I really love Real Madrid, in the most realistic sense of this word." He also cherished the memory of his farewell at the Bernabéu, stating, "My farewell at the Bernabéu… I will keep it inside my heart forever."
