Speaking candidly about their collaboration on the 2022 hit "Bandana," Fireboy praised Asake’s talent and dynamic energy, revealing that Asake impressively recorded his verse for the track on a tour bus.

In an interview with Ebro, Fireboy explained that the strong connection on "Bandana" was rooted in their long-standing friendship, which dates back to their time as students at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ife. According to Fireboy, their record label boss, Olamide, was the one who initially suggested that Asake should join him on the track, leading to an easy and energetic recording process. "Our record label [YBNL] boss, Olamide, advised me to feature Asake on ‘Bandana.’ We sent it to him. He recorded that song on his tour bus. It was quick. The energy was insane,” Fireboy recalled.

Reflecting on Asake’s personality, Fireboy described him as a "born star" with a "very crazy personality," and noted that they share a unique synergy from their university days. “Asake is someone I’ve known since way back. We went to the same university. He has a very crazy personality,” he said. Fireboy went on to highlight the shared struggles and experiences that strengthened their connection, adding, “We had that synergy from way back in school. We had similar struggles. We went through almost the same journey.”
