Myles Sohna, a 22-year-old former Aston Villa academy player, has retired from professional football due to persistent injuries, notably two anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries.
Sohna, who came through Aston Villa's youth system and played as a defender for their Under-23 squad, made this difficult decision after a career heavily impacted by these injuries, which limited his appearances in competitive games.
During his time at Aston Villa, Sohna was known as a ball-playing defender but struggled to fully establish his presence due to recurring physical setbacks. His retirement underscores the significant challenges injuries can impose on young players aiming to progress in professional football.
