Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Ben White will be sidelined for a significant period due to a knee issue.
The 27-year-old defender recently underwent minor surgery, which Arteta described as necessary after White had been struggling with the injury for weeks.
"Ben White is gonna be out for months," Arteta stated, adding that the issue had been ongoing with "different kinds of struggles" and "it’s not been improving."
The Arsenal manager emphasized the need to "protect the player" as his condition worsened.
White had previously missed several games earlier in the season due to knee pain, which now appears to have required this surgical intervention.
The defender's absence is a significant blow for Arsenal, already dealing with injuries to key players, including Takehiro Tomiyasu and Riccardo Calafiori.
As for Arsenal's upcoming fixture, they will face Nottingham Forest this weekend, following the international break.
The team will be hoping to bounce back from their recent struggles, especially with other key players like Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice also dealing with fitness issues.
