Rúben Amorim, the newly appointed manager of Manchester United, recently shared that he received a message from José Mourinho, the former United manager, congratulating him on the move.
Mourinho, who led Manchester United from 2016 to 2018, called the club "a big club with lovely people," and Amorim echoed his sentiments, confirming the warmth of the message.
He stated, “That is correct,” reflecting the significance of the club's stature in the football world.
Mourinho's time at Manchester United was marked by notable achievements, including winning the UEFA Europa League, the FA Cup, and the League Cup during his tenure.
Despite these successes, his time at the club ended in December 2018 after a series of disappointing results, most notably a 3-1 loss to Liverpool. Mourinho’s win rate at United stood at 58.3%, second only to Sir Alex Ferguson’s legendary reign.
Looking ahead, Amorim's first challenge as Manchester United's manager will be this weekend’s Premier League match against Ipswich Town. His goal will be to rejuvenate the team and build on the solid foundation left by his predecessors.
