Chelsea Football Club has confirmed that Wesley Fofana has withdrawn from the France national team due to knee pain.
Fofana reportedly felt discomfort in his left knee following Chelsea's recent Premier League match against Arsenal, which ended in a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on November 10.
Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli initially gave Arsenal the lead in the 60th minute with an assist from Martin Ødegaard, but Chelsea responded in the 70th minute through Pedro Neto, assisted by Enzo Fernández.
As a precaution, Chelsea decided to prioritize Fofana's recovery, leading to his absence from France's UEFA Nations League matches against Israel on November 14 and Italy on November 17. Both Chelsea and the French Football Federation are focused on ensuring the player's long-term fitness.
