Gabriel Osho Expresses Excitement After Joining Super Eagles Camp
Gabriel Osho has shared his excitement and gratitude following his call-up to the Super Eagles camp for the November international break.
26-year-old defender, currently playing for Auxerre, has been selected for Nigeria's upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda.
Born in Reading to Nigerian parents from Lagos, Osho spoke about his journey in an interview with the Super Eagles media team. “My name is Gabriel Osho, defender for Auxerre and the Super Eagles,” he began. “Both my parents were born in Lagos, and I’m happy to be here. I have been invited before but couldn’t make it due to injury and other reasons. However, this time, I’m finally able to join the team."
Reflecting on his call-up, Osho expressed his commitment to giving his all for the national team. "I’ll just work as hard as I can. That's what fans can expect from every single player here. Everyone is talented enough to be here. If you look at the frontline, you’ll see the names of the players. The players who are here and those who couldn’t make the squad this time—Nigeria is full of talented players. It’s an honour to be called up because I know there are so many great players in the country who aren’t here at the moment."
The Super Eagles are set to face Benin Republic on November 14 at the Stade Félix-Houphouët-Boigny and Rwanda on November 18 at the Godswill Akpabio Arena in Uyo. These crucial matches are vital for Nigeria’s pursuit of a spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament.
Osho’s inclusion in the squad bolsters the Super Eagles’ defensive options, and fans are eager to see him take to the field in these pivotal fixtures.
