Barcelona is reportedly eyeing Eintracht Frankfurt's forward, Omar Marmoush, as a potential successor to Robert Lewandowski. This move is part of the club's strategy to secure a long-term replacement for Lewandowski, whose contract with Barcelona is set to expire in June 2025.
Marmoush has been in outstanding form this season, making significant contributions across multiple competitions. He has played 18 matches in the 2024/2025 season, scoring 14 goals and providing 9 assists. His tally includes 10 goals in 9 Bundesliga matches, 2 goals in 4 UEFA Europa League games, and 1 goal in 2 DFB-Pokal appearances.
Lewandowski, on the other hand, continues to showcase his elite goal-scoring abilities. In 16 matches for Barcelona this season, he has netted 19 goals and registered 2 assists. His goal tally includes 14 goals in 12 La Liga appearances and 5 goals in 4 UEFA Champions League matches.
While Lewandowski’s current contract runs until June 2025, there are ongoing discussions about extending his deal until the end of the 2025/2026 season. This extension would be contingent upon Lewandowski playing over 45 minutes in 50% of Barcelona’s league matches this season.
