Liverpool secured a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid last night in a thrilling UEFA Champions League encounter at Anfield. 
Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo were the goal scorers, netting the ball in the 52nd and 76th minutes, respectively.
Alexis Mac Allister's goal in the 52nd minute came after a brilliant one-two with Conor Bradley, allowing Mac Allister to fire a shot into the bottom corner, giving Liverpool a well-deserved lead. Cody Gakpo sealed the victory in the 76th minute with a header from an excellent delivery by Andrew Robertson, doubling Liverpool's lead.
There was some drama with penalties as well. Kylian Mbappe of Real Madrid missed a penalty saved by Liverpool's goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher. Shortly after, Mohamed Salah of Liverpool also missed a penalty, hitting the outside of the post.
Liverpool's next challenge is against Manchester City this weekend, while Real Madrid will face Getafe CF.
