Inter Miami CF has announced the extension of Luis Suárez's contract through the 2025 Major League Soccer (MLS) season. The Uruguayan striker, who joined the club last season, has been a significant contributor to the team's success, scoring 25 goals across all competitions and providing nine assists in 37 matches.

Suárez's impressive performance in his debut season included leading the team to its first Supporters' Shield title and setting a new MLS single-season points record. His efforts were crucial in Inter Miami's record-breaking campaign, and he was named the team's leading scorer.

"I'm very happy, very excited to continue for another year and to be able to enjoy being here with this fanbase, which for us is like family," Suárez said in a statement. "We feel very, very connected with them, and hopefully, next year, we can bring them even more joy."

Inter Miami's president of football operations, Raúl Sanllehí, praised Suárez's impact on the team, stating, "In 2024, Luis brought to Inter Miami all of the elements that make him one of the greatest strikers of all time. He performed at an elite level for us, and we’re excited to see that continue next season."

Suárez will continue to play alongside fellow former FC Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, under the guidance of newly appointed head coach Javier Mascherano. The club is optimistic about competing for multiple trophies in the upcoming season, including the Concacaf Champions Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
