In Minna, the capital of Niger State, residents discovered an abandoned newborn girl in the New Market area.
The baby, believed to be just a day old, was found at approximately 1 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024, after her cries were heard from behind a house.
Local resident Maryam Abdullah shared that a nurse was called in to assess the baby’s health, and the newborn was confirmed to be in stable condition. Abdullah added, "The baby was found behind one of the houses in the New Market area around 1 a.m. when residents heard her cry. A nurse has examined her, and she is in good health. We plan to contact the relevant authorities to take custody of the baby for proper care."
