Singer Jaywon takes swipe at Ayra Starr after Grammy Awards Snub

Nigerian musician Jaywon recently took to social media to offer words of encouragement to his fellow artist, Ayra Starr, following the announcement of the 2025 Grammy nominations, where her name was notably absent.

The Grammys’ nomination list, released just days ago, features prominent Nigerian artists such as Tems, Wizkid, Davido, Rema, Lojay, Yemi Alade, and Burna Boy, celebrating a strong Nigerian presence in this year’s awards lineup.

On his official Twitter account, Jaywon expressed his support for Ayra Starr, encouraging his fans to share his sentiments. "If you see Ayra Starr, tell her I’m sorry she wasn’t nominated for this year’s Grammys. I’m a huge fan of her music and genuinely believe she’s among the finest female vocalists Africa has to offer. Here, we don’t bring people down; we lift them up, not just for today but for the future," he wrote.
