Recall that the former senator, a prominent businessman and philanthropist, passed away on July 27, 2024, in a London hospital following complications from surgery. His body arrived in Nigeria on November 14, 2024, with the burial scheduled for November 22.

Reacting to this somber event, Dr. Penking urged Nigerians to reflect on the transient nature of wealth and the importance of legacy. Highlighting the senator's immense wealth, he remarked, “Have you noticed where they are bringing him out from? That is the part of the plane they put luggage for passenger planes and Stockfish for cargo planes. This is a man with an estimated net worth of $170 billion. What was all the money for? Nothing.” He emphasized that ultimately, material wealth holds no significance compared to the good deeds one leaves behind, stating, “Only the good you have done in this world will speak for you when you are gone.”

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, a former representative of Anambra South, was celebrated for his contributions to business, politics, and philanthropy. He was recognized for his extensive charity work through the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, which supported education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation efforts.
