Tottenham Hotspur's manager, Ange Postecoglou, has updated fans on Richarlison's condition following his recent hamstring injury.
The Brazilian forward will be sidelined for an extended period after sustaining the injury during Tottenham's recent 4-1 victory over Aston Villa, where he assisted Dominic Solanke's goal. This setback comes shortly after Richarlison's return to play, following a previous two-month absence due to an unspecified injury.
Expressing disappointment, Postecoglou commented, "He was very disappointed. We tried to take a different approach [to his rehab], he worked awfully hard on his rehab but also his general fitness. He’d really trimmed down in terms of his conditioning. He was doing everything right, we eased him back into playing, we didn’t want to overload him and unfortunately, he broke down again. He’s disappointed but ultimately, we’ve just got to keep getting him back in there and work with him to get him back up because he’s an important player."
Postecoglou added that Richarlison experienced discomfort while assisting the goal, highlighting the frustration for both the player and the team, who "haven’t really had him at our disposal this year."
Richarlison's absence means he will miss Tottenham's upcoming Premier League match against Ipswich Town, scheduled for Sunday, November 10, with kick-off at 15:00 local time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Meanwhile, Postecoglou remains optimistic about the potential return of vice-captain Cristian Romero, who is recovering from a foot injury. However, Tottenham will still be without Timo Werner, sidelined with a groin injury, and Mikey Moore, who is out due to a virus.
Tottenham supporters are keenly awaiting updates on Richarlison’s recovery, as his presence on the pitch is seen as essential to the club’s aspirations this season. The team will continue monitoring his progress to ensure he regains full fitness at the earliest opportunity.
