In the interview, Ashmusy discussed her difficult upbringing, revealing that she grew up in a small space with 20 people and faced financial hardships. She also shared that her father was absent, and her mother had to borrow money to fund her education at Madonna University, with a modest N5,000 provided each semester.
VDM, however, accused Ashmusy of fabricating a "rags-to-riches" narrative, similar to the stories often told by musicians. He questioned the credibility of her claims, pointing out the contradiction in how her mother could afford to send her to a private university while living in such cramped conditions.
VDM suggested that the money could have been better invested in a business rather than education under those circumstances. He argued that such exaggerated stories undermine the real struggles of people who genuinely rise from poverty to success.
