Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has reportedly tested positive for a banned substance, as per Ukrainian news outlet Tribuna. The positive result was found in his 'A' sample, which was collected at the end of October. The analysis of his 'B' sample, expected in the coming days, will confirm whether the initial result stands.
Should the 'B' sample yield the same result, Mudryk faces a potential suspension of up to four years. Following the doping allegations, Mudryk has been excluded from Chelsea's matchday rosters. His last appearance came on November 28 in a UEFA Conference League game against Heidenheim, where he scored. His final inclusion in a squad was on December 1 for a match against Aston Villa.
Since joining Chelsea, Mudryk has made 73 appearances, contributing a total of 19 goals and assists. The identity of the banned substance remains undisclosed, and official statements are awaited. Chelsea and Mudryk's representatives have not yet provided a response to the matter. The football community is now awaiting the outcome of the 'B' sample test and any subsequent updates regarding potential disciplinary measures.
