Transfer to Everton
Alli joined Everton on January 31, 2022, from Tottenham Hotspur. The initial transfer was free, with potential add-ons bringing the total to £40 million, contingent upon performance-related milestones. He signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, extending until the end of the 2023–24 season.
Performance at Everton
During his tenure at Everton, Alli made 13 appearances, starting only once. He did not score or provide any assists in these matches, reflecting his limited impact on the field. His struggles at Everton led to a loan move to Turkish club BeÅŸiktaÅŸ in August 2022.
Loan to BeÅŸiktaÅŸ
On August 25, 2022, Alli joined BeÅŸiktaÅŸ on loan for the 2022–23 season, with an option for the Turkish club to purchase. He scored his first goal for BeÅŸiktaÅŸ in a 3–2 victory over Ankaragücü on September 4, 2022. However, his time in Turkey was marked by inconsistent performances and personal challenges, including a reported struggle with sleeping pill addiction. Alli made 13 appearances, scoring two goals, before returning to Everton in April 2023 for injury assessment.
Return to Everton and Departure
After his contract with Everton expired in June 2024, Alli continued to train with the club to regain fitness. Despite efforts to return to competitive football, he did not secure a new contract with Everton. In December 2024, he confirmed his departure from the club and announced plans to train with Serie A side Como, managed by Cesc FÃ bregas, starting on December 26. This move represents a significant opportunity for Alli to revitalize his career under the mentorship of FÃ bregas and in the competitive environment of Serie A.
